I am new at linuxcnc, schooled in design, worked in machining. So I am not schooled in this part of the process. I have looked at most of the possible screens to use, I like the axis gui but don't like the size of the icons if a few feet away. I would like to use the gscreen_gaxis screen. But cannot get it load from my ini file. I have tried a number of display line names, but none have worked.

is there any help or hope for me

Yes there is help.
Generally we need a bit more info.
The error log helps. Attaching your hal & ini files also helps. A slightly more descriptive description of the issue, "I can not get it to load" is about as helpful as "I can not get my car to start". It tells us what is not happening but not what is actually happening.
Looking at the sim config the line appears to be:
DISPLAY = gscreen

Thank you
I have used Display = gscreen, and yes the gscreen does work. But not gscreen_gaxis.
I have attached my ini file and error message.

This is from gscreen_gaxis.ini in the samples
DISPLAY = gscreen -c gaxis -c

More info
linuxcnc.org/docs/2.8/html/gui/gscreen.html#_ini_settings

Looking thru the above and the sim files I can't see any reference to gscreen.gaxis, where did you get this from ?

DISPLAY = gscreen -c gaxis -c

This works... Now I have to show how new I am at editing and reading these files. What is or does the -c do or mean in the line of code??

I'd already linked that page here forum.linuxcnc.org/38-general-linuxcnc-q...creen-display#187250 did you just ignore it ?

When I was playing around with the sim the Touch Off buttons seemed in active.
