Hey Guys.
I have been looking at posts on this forum looking at mapping ball screws such as: forum.linuxcnc.org/10-advanced-configura...-ball-screw?start=10
Would this same process work for mapping linear scales?
What are the downsides of mapping the axes other than the time taken to calibrate the axes?
What are the theoretical limits to using this proposed method to improve the accuracy of the linear axes?

It ought to work, but if you don't trust the linear scales, what do you trust?
