interesting
dmg/maho has always had pretty advanced safety. my late 80's machine had clutches on each axis for crash protection and a even camera to detect broken tools.

looks like you are in good shape then, interested to see where this goes. may people convert older maho's which can be bought for pennies. this is the first "modern era" dmg ive seen being done.

i no longer have the power to run a machine like this sadly, gotta stick with the little stuff.

Yes, I´m super exited, I´ve allready prepaired the garage with a 5q10 cable on 63 amps, the ol´girl needs some power! Now I just need the specialists to chime in on whats boards to use, budget around 1000-2000$ (if thats what we need, but ofcourse less is better and leaves more $$$ on the table for cool hop ups!)

Well the baseline would be the mesa 7i77, or the newer ethernet variant (7i97), However you will likely need 1 or more extra IO cards, although with no atc or gears it should be relatively simple.

If this is a running machine, i would first power it under the tnc124 and see what every function does.

So this kit would bring me everything I need to get things up and running?
77I7 + 5I25
store.mesanet.com/index.php?route=produc...oduct&product_id=214

And ofcourse a moderate PC with a PCI slot...
But the 7I97 does that one not need the 5I25 card? Does it connect to the pc through the ethernet cable or what? That would be handy, cause it would open up the possability to use these new small pc´s that have no pci slot...

7i97 does NOT need 5i25, and it does connect to the PC through an ethernet cable.

I would go for a 7i94 +7i77. Then you can add io using 7i70 and 7i71's.

Or as mentioned 7i97 but add a 7i74 and 7i70/71's as required
