breaking off from
here
SIEG KC4S
cannot physically access PC due to machine against wall
currently uses linuxCNC(need version)
linuxcnc.org/documents/on ubuntu 10.04 released april 2010 and supported until april 2013
stuck error message about OS
no internet connectivity to update
using a (find out) controller
Id like to identify all components, get the updater to work correctly, and to future proof the unit better
this is at a makerspace, and we would like to add this to the machines that we can show off and impress potential members with

This keeps getting better, Mesa boards, the main one is the Mesa 5i23.
Besides very high quality, those boards come with the best support on planet earth, the owner of Mesa is very active on this forum and his help goes way beyond what is considered "exceptional".
This one needs one more file to be backed up (although pretty sure it can be downloaded from the Mesa website), namely in a folder named hm2/5i23/and the file name is "SVST8_4.BIT"
The config can be moved, and would benefit from from adding some more options that are now available, but i'll leave that to more experienced members regarding lathes.
