I'm working on creating openCV Hal components. I started out just wanting to create widgets for openCV but it makes more sense to make them GUI agnostic so that anyone may use them.

Which openCV filters are you interested in? I am going to include part alignment for pick-n-place as well as sheet alignment by scanning fiducials.

currently I am looking for sheet and feeder alignment ( down-look camera ) and part  alignment ( up-look camera ) . That said I am
sure just those can have huge benefits in machining as well.

Yes, working on those.

JT posted a sheet alignment program on another forum:

Might be of some use to you in the mean time.

Just FYI, QTPYVCP already has some rough but working openCV video widgets and control panel.

github.com/kcjengr/qtpyvcp.computer-vision

github.com/TurBoss/VideoVCP

It plays a video stream from a USB camera, with optional crosshairs for zeroing on features and an edge detect filter.

So does qtvc[/qtdragon

Minus edge detection, but that could be added.
