Background info; I've spent the morning trying to install the drivers for a PCI parallel card.  I couldn't find the drivers anywhere, but suddenly the parallel port started working.  NFI.

Days too late, but LinuxCNC has its own special driver which works at the port level. You should not need any other driver for a compliant parallel card. And a non-compliant parallel card probably won't work at all.
