Pendant XHC-WHB04B-4 - Constant USB disconnects was created by koopa
PIcked up a XHC-WHB04B-4, which is the 4-axis MPG variant. I've seen a lot of discussion about the XHC-WHB04B-6, the 6 axis version.
My issue, before worrying even about udev or HAL or anything... constant USB disconnects.
1. Plug in USB receiver
2. I can see it pop up
3. Let it idle a bit. As soon as I interact with the MPG, the USB device disconnects.
4. In another few seconds, the device will reconnect.
5. Rinse and repeat over and over.
I've tried it on 2 PC's (one was windows), and this is on the USB port directly on the back of the motherboard. My initial thought it faulty hardware obviously, possibly drawing more then 500mA, could be blowing the soft-fuse and cycling over and over.
Before opening a dispute with the vendor, just want to check if anyone else came across this.

It's not something that I have heard of here on the forum (I have no first-hand knowledge of these pendants)

So to give an update regarding this
I have bought new USB receiver (30$) and didn't work out of box so seller from AliExpress provided me with pairing SW
Managed to get new one to work BUT also tried on OLD one and now it works also
So don't buy new one use this SW and try (use Google translate for steps) maybe will create translated doc later)
Let me know if it works for you
P.S.
I have done this from VirtualBox with WIndows 10 (not responsible for anything using this SW)

I am also having this same issue with one of these pendants. I re-paired it as suggested in this thread but the same behavior is happening. On the windows machine that I pair it on it seems to work fine, but when plugged into my LinuxCNC machine the USB disconnects every few seconds (ie device disappears from lsusb), then reconnects after a few seconds. The display on the pendant is unchanged.
I have not set it up in LinuxCNC due to this issue. Is this correct behavior if the pendant does not receive any traffic from the PC for a while?

I have tried few times until worked for me as I have 2 so was doing multiple retries (not sure if that is the case but worth trying)
Also few notes check udev rules and that is NOT on USB hub, for me that worked fine after since then and I have no problems or issues
Let me know if worked

When you do the repairing what does the pendant say? It seems to reconnect without holding the RESET button as the instructions say. Maybe it really isn't re-pairing properly?
I will verify the udev rules.
Worth noting that on my daily use laptop (Ubuntu 22.04) it doesn't seem to be detected at all. The LinuxCNC machine sees it but then kicks it off after ~5s (USB disconnect) beginning a cycle of disconnecting/reconnecting.
Appreciate your help!

I remember I had issues with that also, so try to hold RESET longer as it does not say anything (as I remember)
I'm sure you need to do it multiple times as indeed it is done in complicated way without any visible interaction
I'm on holidays till next year so after that will be back with CNC if you don't fix it will try something
But let me know if you succeed in meantime

I used the WHB04B-4 for a year without problems on Linuxcnc 2.9.
After a fresh install of Linux and Linuxcnc (2.9) the problem started:
I noticed that lsusb shows correctly when the usb dongle is inserted but the pendant is off.
bus 002 device 002 10ce:eb93 Silicon Labs
I can repeat lsusb over and over and the device will be number 002
If I now switch on the pendant, the device will disappear in seconds. If I keep checking lsusb the device connects again for a short time, now with a new (higher) device number. And this goes on as long as the pendant is ON.
lsusb
bus 002 device 015 10ce:eb93 Silicon Labs
lsusb
the whole Silicon Labs line is missing
lsusb
bus 002 device 016 10ce:eb93 Silicon Labs
lsusb
the whole Silicon Labs line is missing
lsusb
bus 002 device 019 10ce:eb93 Silicon Labs
etc etc
Now I am on Linuxcnc 2.10 same problem.
anyone??

Maybe it is a problem with the device itself, I tried the same with my pendant (wireless) on version 2.9 (updated today) without any issues.
