LinuxCNC Fails To Boot. was created by fc60
Greetings,
Machine started fine today.
Able to Home, Jog, and dial in a part.
Called up program and it said Tool 1006 not found, okay, new tool.
Edited Tool Table and added T1006.
Exit Tool Table and click on Reload Tool Table.Simple program but the computer took a long time to say "tool 1006 not found".
Edited Tool Table and T1006 is the last tool defined?
Reload Tool Table via the menu and Tool still not found.Shut down computer and reboot.
LinuxCNC takes a long time to start. Machine has been running fine for 5 years.
An error log pops up on the screen. I do not fully understand all the messages so I seek HELP from the Forum.
With kind regards,David

It would have been better to edit the gcode file and replace tool 1006 with tool 1 or 2 or whatever.
From the logs you seem to be using LinuxCNC 2.5.5 that is very old and most likely can not handle tools with such big numbers.
In the config folder there should be the .tbl file, edit it and remove the tool 1006, then edit the gcode file by using the 'search and replace' function to replace every entry mentioning that tool with tool 1.

Greetings Tommy,
Many thanks!!!
I edited the mill.tbl and removed Tool 1006.
It was the last line of the file and entry #56.
Seems that 55 lines/tools are the limit.
Part is finished, thanks to you.
Cheers,
David
