Fanuc serial encoder part numbers that work with mesa cards. was created by M4MazakUser
Anyone care to share there fanuc serial encoder part number that works with meas firmware? I have #2 encoders and have been told that I can only currently use #1 type. -type 1 being aa64, whereas type 2 are Ai64 type.
I'm looking at swapping the encoders so I can have something useful but I need a working part number so I can locate some. (If anyone has any im in Australia)

Are you sure you have type2 encoders?
What is the full part number of your encoder (the number that starts with 860)

Thanks, I've been going through the rest of the lathe in the meantime, its a Taiwanese machine, (chenho thc2050) very good quality parts. Pity about the fact that every bearing is stuffed due to it going 4m under flood mud!

OK the one I have is a A860-2001-T301
Pulsecoder aiA16000
But it has the same connector and I suspect it's
just the 16M count version of your A860-2000-T301

The count would just be a value in hal (that could be changed). The xilinx module would be the same for different counts?

Differing resolutions require different hal parameters for the FANUC encoder module
(so the right bit field segments can be extracted from the returned serial data)

So, is the bitstream the same, -77 etc, is it just an increase in frequency. Is there consistent position data being sent out as there is only rd and *rd pins ?

I don't know the data length yet. It may well be longer.
Hoping to have some time to experiment with my encoder next week
