HAL graphing was created by frogandspanner
I have used Rockhopper/Graphviz/dot for producing diagrams of a HAL configuration, but this seems to work only for a valid HAL config that permits linuxCNC to run.
I have been bodging some code to convert imperfect hal to (imperfect) dot, and it gives a decent first approximation to what I want, but before I spend any more time on it I wonder if there are better tools out there. I have come across a python tool, but failed to get it to work (python is the worst programming language ever devised - and I've been there since Fortran IV and Algol 60).
If there is nothing better then I'll continue working on what I have written.

There seem to be at least 3 or 4 options here:
forum.linuxcnc.org/24-hal-components/378...onfiguration?start=0
