Database of configuration files: Milling machine, lathes plasma was created by besriworld
Let's make a database of configuration files for different machines.
Example:
I think it will be an interesting topic for all beginners like me.I hope the topic becomes interesting
Example:
- Machine name and photo.
- Hardware used and brief description.(Controller, driver, motor , panel ,ATC and other)
I think it will be an interesting topic for all beginners like me.I hope the topic becomes interesting

Second this.
I know we have the configuration tools, but its equally helpful when theres a known working config that you can get insight from. The hal stuff is a daunting task for some
I was having a hard time finding an example of a lathe with threading ability, I think I found one config in the samples

Third this.
I don't know what framework would be appropriate for a library or DB, but I know I've collected numerous configs over the past couple years trying to understand the whole LCNC thing.
Having a repository of working - and even non-working - configs would be very helpful:
Even if this idea blossoms and then dies from lack of participation or curating... the information is still (likely) valid years later.

Having a repository of working - and even non-working - configs would be very helpful:
- Understanding - or at least exposure to - different HAL setups and writing styles
- Reducing the Easter-egg-hunt when looking for an example of a specific function or behavior
- Seeing whats involved in more complicated machines (4-5 axis, live tool lathes, ATC of all flavors)
- User-authored comps in one place - the wiki has some useful comps, but there are dozens of useful comps littered across the forum yet are essentially invisible unless you have lots of time on your hands to search
Even if this idea blossoms and then dies from lack of participation or curating... the information is still (likely) valid years later.

Well, if you think the topic is not needed... you can delete it! I see you can do it !
The other members seem to think the same way. 160 views and no configuration faile

bersi, I dont think he was referring to you or the topic, there are many spammers on the forum.
The General Questions section is also not the appropriate place for such a database. I like meisters suggestion, thats also what I was thinking, but spumco raises a good point about curation

It was a spam message that was deleted to inform the others that are subscribed to this topic as they get email alerts and come here and find nothing.

I think this topic can remain in general questions, but the one with uploads should be probably in "show your stuff".
The reason being there are very small chances of having configs that just work for others, the possibilities are huge, and there is always the risk of someone using a config that might do harm in another machine, think enabling servos at full tilt or heaters or hydraulics or ....
Still, after all that, i always upload configs with all my machines as it absolutely should go without saying "use at your own risk".
@Besri,
Make a new topic in "show your stuff" probably named "working configs database" or similar, so we can have pictures/videos with attached configs there, and leave this one for discussion about those configs.
Does that seem OK?
Thank you.

Yes, I misunderstood the post. I apologize ! Yes, it would be very stupid if someone just copied things they don't understand. About now I started work on a lathe with AC servo motors step/direction control and mesa card 7i98 plus my custom I/O board. I am going through many basic problems which I solve by searching the forum. - many hours in search, this lost time can be saved if there is a database of working projects, I hope it will be of help to all new members.
Yes, it is a good idea to upload them to github .
You can open a new topic with first configuration. And keep the topic locked and transfer opinions with a configuration from this one

It is your idea, so it deserves your name there. You can open a new topic with first configuration.
It is better to keep it opened so users can upload their stuff, and whatever should not be there we can transfer here. And keep the topic locked and transfer opinions with a configuration from this one
Thank you.
