Can you reach the internet with that computer at all?
If your computer cannot connect to the internet then you are not going to get anywhere trying to download and install software packages.

yes i am connected to the internet.. but still unable to edit connections to change my IPv4 from to 10.10.10.10

Hi tommy. I tried to edit the connections using the "edit connections " option but still did not display more options to do so.
I want to try the second method which is to edit the file/etc/network/interface but i cannot get the location to add the below lines:
auto eth1
iface eth1 inet static
address 192.168.1.1
hardware-irq-coalesce-rx-usecs 0
Where do i get that location to add that line
