QT Dragon crashes - new installation was created by DPKdd
I have a working setup (QTdragon_hd gui) on a converted 3 axis mill (PM-940V). I am attempting to setup a additiona/new dual boot machine that I can use as a backup and place to test new configurations.
I have a fresh debian 12 install and have installed LinuxCNC from the package manager. The installation seems to be fine and the axis sim works like I expect but any time I load a qt dragon (or qt dragon hd) sim the gui display seems to start like I would expect but most of the screen seems to be frozen. Some functions work (sometimes I can select different tabs). copying the error log seems to be not letting me post, but if there is a good way to attach it, please let me know. In addition to the error log, when I click the exit button I get a notification that python3 has stopped responding and an option to wait or force quit.
Any help is appreciated

report attached. I am suspicious that I am missing python3 packages (not sure why?) but I do not know how to identify what is missing.
Thanks again for the help

Can you run from a terminal and post the output?

Here is the output when I run the sim/example directly from the interface that launches when i run linuxcnc (instead of the version that is saved to my linuxcnc directory as above). Both examples have the same behavior (i.e. gui freezes and python crashes on exit)

I don;t see anything jumping out.
Can you open a terminal and type:
qtvcp test_panel
and see if a panel shows.

Here is the terminal output:
dustin@Debiandual:~$ qtvcp test_panel

The repeated warning would display anytime I hovered over the Dial Range or LED Sound menu selection (not sure if that helps)
Additionally, there was "Terminal" pop up window that displayed:
"terminal program urxvt not available. Try sudo apt install rxvt-unicode-256color"
Obviously i can attempt to install rxvt-unicode-256color but I'm not sure if this is a symptom of additional missing packages or an install issue.
Thanks again for the help.

I should add that all of the functions in the qtvcp test panel seem to work and python3 does not crash/stop responding on exit like it does when exiting the qt_dragon displays.

What Desktop Environment are you using?
GNOME and KDE use Wayland, others use still Xorg, as far as i can recall.
Either way everything is going to Wayland so i am following a bit how LinuxCNC behaves but had no time to actually test anything.
