Is the machine homed?

Unlike Axis you can't jog the machine in Probe Basic unless it has been homed first.

It's no too bad actually. I started with a working AXIS configuration and created my Probe Basic config from that following the instructions available in the sticky thread here on the forum.

the sim should work without any modification to the config files, if so then everything is installed correctly, just compare your config files for your machine config to the sim config files. there are a few sections in the ini file that are required for probe basic and they stand out easily enough and then there are some additional files in the sim config that you won't find in the axis config folder that will need to be copied over. its not too bad and its good to become familiar with these files as they are there for user integrations and customizations in probe basic.

i just updated the documentation for probe basic it now coveres several key areas including installation (of several methods), machine configuration building and setup, including making an easy to copy over file bundle placed in the config folder during installation, and an easy to follow guide on editing the ini and hal files. it will be much easier to keep current as the forum was difficult to edit or make changes to without utterly destroying the original formatting of the post. all doc updates will be directly on the probe basic website now and will be maintained and update with any major releases.
