Yes, set those both to 20000 (for all joints)

OK I would leave them at 20000 since is has no significant effect on performance
and eliminates a possible source of errors.

Could still be mechanical, a problem with the drive or encoder, etc.

Can you swap drives easily?

I tried to reverse the z-axis and x-axis motors but the problem remains the same. this evening I'll try to create a new minimum configuration to test, using the 5th free exit of the mesa instead of this one. If it doesn't work, as soon as I can I'll dismantle all the components of the axle to check them. I can't think of anything else...

I just used the free output instead of the one I used for the X by changing the parameters on the existing configuration file. The error disappeared and everything is perfect again, so I have a problem on exit 0 of the Mesa... This thing doesn't make me happy at all.

Might be interference issues, use shielded cable for signaling.

Sounds like a marginal output. This could be a factory defect but
could also be caused by accidental contact of a step/dir wire
to a voltage outside the 0 to 5V range.

You can check the step/dir outputs with this script:

File Attachment:

File Name: stepgens.txt
File Size:1 KB

(You need to "chmod +x stepgens.txt" to make it executable and
possibly change the IP address in the script)

This will slowly toggle all the step/dir outputs on any Mesa ethernet
FPGA card.

They should swing from 0 to 5V

This does require the latest mesasflash:

github.com/LinuxCNC/mesaflash

the cables are all shielded, I haven't made any changes and the router has been working for almost 2 years without this problem.

I'll try as soon as I can, but to change the output I didn't touch any wire, I simply removed and replaced the complete terminal, going from output 0 to output 4 which is exactly below.
