Need help with CNC machine build up was created by BX-CNC
Hi, Im building the first CNC machine of my life, I use the sainsmart 5-axis breakout board, MECCANITY step driver and smart automation drivers. I wanna test 1 motor with 1 driver first. The wire seems all correct but i dont know how to configure the files for linuxCNC and i dont really know if my board is actually connected with my PC. Please help, thanks a lot.

Are you using onboard or PCI card?
Everything is powered up?
For a first try use stepconf wizard. It will create all the files you need to run your test. You can even run motors through the wizard.

You have to know what are step and dir pins.
I see you are missing usb cable to powerup your bob computer-side.
Could you take a closeup picture so we can understand your wiring?

It seems you are using Z pins. So it should be P6 for step and P7 for direction and P1 for enable.
Is the motor shaft locked when you power everything up or can it spin freely if you turn it by hand?
If they are free to move, try reverting enable pin.

YES! They are free to move when I power off and it locks when I power the board on.
