Ah so this just use the hostmot2/hal pi names ?
perfect that is much easier.
Thanks.

hmm looking at the manual it says the spindle output is like a potentiometer .
Does this still use the hostmot2/HAL PWM component?
eg.
setp hm2_5i25.0.pwmgen.00.output-type 1
setp hm2_5i25.0.pwmgen.00.scale [SPINDLE_9]OUTPUT_SCALE
net spindle-vel-cmd => hm2_5i25.0.pwmgen.00.value
net spindle-enable => hm2_5i25.0.pwmgen.00.enable
Thanks Chris

I guess so. My spindle control is a PWM to a totem-pole opto and filter.
Specifically this:

and a resistor and capacitor.
Because it is a totem-pole output it drives both ways, so actively discharges the cap at 0 input current, and charges it at 10mA input current.
So, it will take a 5V logic PWM and create a scaled version of pretty much any voltage you apply to pins 6 and 4

Yes its just stock HM2 so the spindle analog out is just a standard mode 1
PWMGEN though it wants about 5KHz for best linearity/ripple compromise
It does have an expansion sserial port so anything can go there

cmorley in you thread 5i25_xml file to Pncconf you post 5i25 and 7i76/7i77 xml files. Is posible create xml files to 7i78?

I didn't announce it to you because you need the bug fixed version of pncconf to use it properly.
The buildbot is still not up yet (the easiest way to get the latest version)
But it can't hurt to try it. It probably will work fine if you don't want the serial ports for anything.
