I did this:
sudo mesaflash --device 5i25 --write 5i25_dmmbob1x2.bit
sudo mesaflash --device 5i25 --reload
sudo mesaflash --device 5i25 --readhmid
This was not needed.
sudo apt-get install mesaflash
PnCConf I used this
probrfx2.
No movement .
I have no idea what I've missed.

The enable question is more of a hardware/wiring question,
that is what type of drives do you have and what BOB signal
enables the drives?

As far as I can remember its benezan electronics beast 5.
That's as far as I got with the original manufacturer of the controller and drives.
