what is the input common connected to?

Sounds more like a wiring error of some kind
(missing common connection?)

is V- connected to frame ground?

It really sounds like some kind of wiring error

No v- isn’t. It goes from v+ to limit switch, other wire from limit switch to input on Mesa. Then com is v-

My guess would be that you have a large AC (maybe HF)
voltage from V- to frame ground.

I’m not sure. I’m going to make a larger control box and see if that helps. Things are a bit close. But is the wiring right with what I said?
