Sorry - you are compiling a deb? - well that the long way.
I assumed you were using a RIP when you said you compiled.
In future you can edit the file directly - they are just in different locations when installed.
Please confirm that the fix worked or any new error message if it did not.

My PI4 has finally finished updating and FWIW I don't see the issue on a RIP build. I probably have an older kernel (5.15.27-rt35-v8), not sure if that would make a difference.
The error I posted before only happens if I select the 7i96s_7i74 firmware which seems to be the default.

RIP is good if you need/want quick/experimental code changes.
installing with a deb is very common, as it's easy to install and get up running.
Compiling a deb seems the worst of both, but it doesn't really mater - what ever works for you.

I'll change it so at least it doesn't crash. Thanks.

Looks like an off by one error. I'm just not sure if the firmware data is wrong, or the parsing function is wrong. I would need to have the firmware output from mesaflash to test with. While waiting for my RPI to update I ran PNCconf to the end and noticed this error if I selected a 7i96s:
I don't see that if I select a 7i96.
I'll change it so at least it doesn't crash. Thanks.

It worked!
And I wish I would've read the note after ./configure to run "sudo make install" instead of building the package!

When I try to reopen the .conf file, I get the attached error. I did use custom HMID on the INPUT page of help. Terminal shows: **** INFO firmware 0 changed. Do you think that's the cause?
Last edit: 30 Mar 2023 08:46 by mor. Reason: Added terminal error message
