Wie viele parallel ports möglich?

MoinMoin,

ich habe aktuell eine PCI-E - Parallel Port Karte mit 2 Ports in Benutzung. Auf dem Mainboard selber ist auch noch ein Port vorhanden.
Kann man diesen als Eingang auch noch mit nutzen?

Lade die Karte momentan mit "loadrt hal_parport cfg="0xec00 out 1 in""

Parallel port modes:
OUT = 12 out/5 in
IN = 4 out/13 in
X = 8 out/9 in

ja, diesen Parallelport auf dem Mainboard selber kann man auch noch mit nutzen, beliebig frei ausgewaehlte Typen so wie Tommy schreibt

3 Parallelports funktionieren einwandfrei in einer MIKRON WF3 hier bei mir

3 parallel ports work fine in a MIKRON WF3 mill here

no problem, eight would be a lot, that is fine, until now i used only three, and Jetiman actually asked to use only a third parallelport!

Mit lspci finde ich nur die eine 2er Karte.

es kann sein, dass im Mainboard BIOS der Parallelport noch [Disabled] ist, setzen auf [0x0378] oder [0x0278]
dieser interne Parallelport wird eventuell mit lspci gar nicht angezeigt

also z.B. gemäss BigJohnT nach dem booten ein Terminal oeffnen und eingeben

dmesg > boot.txt

dann das File oeffnen und z.B. nach "parport" oder "0x378" suchen

oder

dmesg|grep parport


oder eventuell einfach in der Linuxcnc Anwendung (AXIS) HAL anzeigen und kontrollieren, ob die
Pins von parport 0, parport 1 und parport 2 vorhanden sind

So,

der OnBoard Port war tatsächlich im Bios deaktiviert. Habe ihn nun aktiviert. Jetzt läuft meine PCI-E karte aber nicht mehr.
Wenn ich LinuxCNC startet kommt das Logo, und dann passiert nichts mehr. Habe dann versucht mit dem Stepconf die X-Achse zu verfahren, wenn ich auf Test klicke stürzt erst Stepconf ab später auch das ganze System.

Deaktiviere ich den OnBoard Port läuft alles wieder.

Das System ist grade frisch installiert worden. Daran wurde also nichts gebastelt.

The port address will change, so the built in port will become port 0 but in your hal you still have the address for the add-on card.
