ok i got an old pendant that operates via USB with simple 15 NO push buttons on it whent cmd and tiped less /proc/bus/input/devices as stated on the wiki pages got the pendants address as

I: Bus=0003 Vendor=04d8 Product=0055 Version=0111
N: Name="Microchip Technology Inc. Keyboard Demo"
P: Phys=usb-0000:00:1d.0-2/input0
S: Sysfs=/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.0/usb2/2-2/2-2:1.0/input/input5
U: Uniq=
H: Handlers=kbd event5
B: EV=120013
B: KEY=10000 7 ff980000 7ff febeffdf ffefffff ffffffff fffffffe
B: MSC=10
B: LED=1f

so i went and added "loadusr -W hal_input -KRAL Demo" to the main .hal file and got error message when trying to start emc2

Step 3 goes in the first hal file called by the HAL section of your ini file.

Try some of the other names in the list.

Just a SWAG at it but it might not be HID compatible or something like that...
