I think as a RHCE I can cope.

As an ex-marine engineer I am well familiar with lathes and mills etc and how dangerous can be. The point is here to setup linuxcnc without hardware so I can play safely with no mass, speed and sharp bits involved. What I suspect I will end up doing is building a small / simple powered model.
