Andy, that level lets you do some things but you need 4000 watch hours to get monetized for watch page ads. Scroll further down and you'll see.

And yes, YouTube runs ads in your vids regardless of your channel size...

I have not published a video for a month. I was puzzled to see that there was an upwards trend in my views which had doubled during the month without any new content.

I think this was because I added AI generated thumbnails and revised titles to be more in line with what Youtube wants. TIme will tell.

Yesterday, I published a new video about installing on Trixie and its the best performer I've done. I think this was because I followed a script, added some chapter heading banners and used a cheap Teleprompter (which I also bought a foot switch for). I also used my DSLR with a 50mm F1.4 lens. The ficus hunted a bit but the deot of fields is nicer when I am in focus... You be the judge


I bought a video switcher and I want to do an installation walkthrough but last night I realized that the HP PC I wanted to use does not have an HDMI port so Ihave ordered a VGA to HDMI adapter. Hopefully I will be able to capture the screens from the BIOS and the Debian Installer. Wish me Luck!

  Well looks like YouTube has finally done it . They are now making you sign in to watch ANYTHING . At least in the USA,
I don't know about everywhere else.  That said I will be shutting down my channel so all my video's I have links too on
this site and elsewhere will soon be dead.
There excuse is preventing Bots from clicking on video's  Funny they don't seem to have a problem with all the A.I. 
slop that has proliferated the site.

addendum
After some looking into it seems the culprit was not with YouTube it self but something else ISP, ect,ect. exact
issue still unknown. so I will leave my channel in place for now. 

 

I'm lost about your expectations. You have to log in  as a YouTube  user to post a video to your channel and you have to log in to post comments on my videos so what's wrong with being logged in to view stuff? At least YouTube can recommend videos to you...

If i remember right this has to do with age verification and other new laws passed in the usa.
I am always logged in by default on my pc and phone, but my table has no account and does not cause any issues (actually its got less ads!)

But also as above, how would you expect to have a channel without logging in? Weird reference to make.

If people wish to swallow the continued escalation of data mining of the populus and participating
in police states. that is for them to decide.

  But to put it simply rodw you don't have to log into forums to READ the information. At least not yet.
I wont be surprised if that changes soon as well. You know for the kids. Wont somebody please think
of the Children. So why Should I have to log in to VIEW a video, that's my point.
I am tired of the increasing collection of data on everyone not just me.
I may not be able to stop the big machine, But I don't have to help it along either.

Sad to say but the Aussie Gumbernment, being advised by an unelected eKaren who's main job was the keep the kids safe from rock spiders, is also responsible for this mess.
Honestly since the only reason I watch Foxtel, cable tv to our north American cousins, is to watch the MotoGP, WSBK and other bike racing, I had a YouTube Premium subscription for a few years now, maybe pre coof years. So I don't have an issue with signing in.
I think I may have seen some free to air tv a year or so ago, I lost 3/4 of my IQ felt the urge to be some crocs and a Ford Ranger and listen to Triple M on the radio...luckily I can neither afford a Ford Ranger nor a pair of crocs.

I cant find any reference to having to log on to view videos other than random people saying they have technical issues going back YEARS. Can you direct me to the youtube policy for this? I know this is is a new policy in the usa (maybe only in some states, not federal, and nothing to do with youtube of course) but i cant see where its stated by youtube as a rule. Got links?
