I've setup the network address via the gui, and going back there the gateway is blank and won't hold a set address..
any clues...?
In any case I've inserted the lines of code that the manual describes(into the interface file). However it comes back with Network is unreachable (-101).
do you need to remove any of the other text..

YOU cand use the same IP as the CARD
if the card has 10.10.10.10 the pc needs to have 10.10.10.1

BUT at all please use the 192.168.1.1 for the pc and jumper the card to use board_ip=192.168.1.121

As bbsr_5a said, you can not have the same address on the PC and the Mesa card, change the PC address to 11 the last digits.

I tryed address 10.10.10.1 and 10.10.10.11 no avail..
where should i look for the ethernet device name, it is what i used... in the interfaces file...

opening IP A, i get a bunch of mac address stuff and i can see a reference to eth0(1 is mentioned as lo,and 2 is labeled as eth0) but in replacing the eth1 with eth0 in the interfaces file i still get an error.
