				One other option is to use VMware Fusion Player which is free, the tools for it don't require building and are already packaged in Debian.

				So I apparently cannot use the free VMWare Fusion Player option since my MacOS is too old, and they did not have a free Fusion Player option back when their version of Fusion was compatible with my OS. :-|

There is also UTM, the only issue I have with it on an Intel Mac is that the VM can't be paused.

- iOS 14 and macOS 11.3 are the minimum supported systems for UTM v4.x. Please use UTM v3.x for support down to iOS 11 and macOS 11

				In that case I think your best bet is to boot into the image that works correctly and then go into synaptic and remove every other linux-image.
