Linuxcnc 2.9.4 and Mesa 7i97T was created by Nkbhvid
Hi
Coming from my safe world of Mach 3 and 4 I have now made the jump into Linuxcnc.
OMG its complicated!
I have spend almost a week trying to set up Linuxcnc 2.9.4 (and a couple of other versions) on the mesa 7i97T card.
Is there anybody out there who has made this work?
I can make it ping but thats as far as I can get. From here there is only "board not found"
Is there any known challenges in this setup and will it ever work?
Best regards
Nicolaj Hvid

What IP address is selected on the 7I97T?
What does the command:
ip a
return?

I am not sure I understand your question?
This is my last attempt to make it work after having spend days trying to figure out how to configure Linuxcnc to work with my Mesa 7i97T.
So far it has been a nightmare -expensive in time and money.

Does mesaflash see the card ?
Usually in these situations it is help to attach your ini & hal files and the error reports from when Linuxcnc fails.

I was asking about:
From here there is only "board not found"
What program printed that message?
As Unknown mentioned, posting your hal and ini files would help diagnosis.
Note that pncconf cannot currently make configuration files for the 7I97/7I97T
so the options are to use MesaCT or start with a sample 7I97 configuration
and modify it to suit your hardware:

Correct me if im wrong here but as far as im informed there will be no ini nor hal file before the configuration?
Since im not there yet i have none of them - or at least from what i can see
I can ping the board and mesaflash sees it but thats about it.
I'm really curious to hear if my setup with a Linuxcnc and a mesa 7i97T is a dead end street. If so I would rather stop now and go back to my safe world of PLCs and Mach
