Wow, the mobile view is great. Much improved on my iOS/safari browser.

Todd,
I understand how you feel and I have always tended to agree with your point of view. However, tests show that most readers can't track from line to line when the line length is too great, more than 60-80 characters, which is why a maximum-width layout is the default on Joomla. Accordingly, I left the default in place.
I looked for a per-user preference within the website but I could not find one.
However, if you will use the firefox extension "stylish" , you can change it for yourself. After installing stylish, create a new style for this site and cut and paste the following:

@-moz-document domain("forum.linuxcnc.org") {

That seems silly, to have a default width for those reasons. If I wanted a narrow window, I would size my window that size. I'll try your suggestion.
Edit:
Ah, yes much nicer, thanks for the hint.

Hold down CTRL and press + button on the keyboard.
It works on all web browsers from last 5 years. Accordingly if you press the - button you can zoom out.
Easy as that and it breaks the lines just fine with no horizontal scrolling necessary.

ctrl +/-/0 only controls the zoom, not really what I was after.

Hello
The upgrade has broken my normal access to the forum. I am running XP and Chrome. Chrome is complaining about an error in the security certificate and will not allow me to connect. This worked fine before. What do I need to fix?

All in all, the upgrades are wonderful. So there will be (are) a few glitches. No worries. Just deal with 'em.
The Developers are working really hard for all, not just themselves.
A big round of applause to them for their efforts.
