LinuxCNC S-Curve Accelerations

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Hi,

Ok. We will rename it to : grotius-tp.so

@Endian,
It's still unclear to me what you exactly need.

1. A linuxcnc single axis component that generates a scurve motion, given a target position, maxvel, maxacc, maxjerk.
2. A multi axis pid for linuxcnc that generates motion given target position, maxvel, maxacc, maxjerk.
3. Something else.

Making a pid from a scurve is possible. I am a bit concerned about the following error, but we will see how it works out.

Yesterday, i got messaged by 2 people who have installing problems to enable ethercat & scurve on their linuxcnc iso installation.
Most off the users don't have the skills to install a rip installation, etc. So they have in fact a problem running our software.
It will take them hours & hours to get some install results.

To resolve this, i think i will make a .iso distribution today.

I think naming have to be unique because as Gentlemen said before we have some similarities yet and create new ones is not a best practies ... Something like extented trajectory planner or grotius trajectory planner should be great... and it should be an included part of raw lcnc and no more problems at all..

I basically need a velocity command which comes out of PID and its first derivation which means acceleration ... but velocity is not constant and derivations have different character depends of time I defenetly need some spline acceleration profile generator which allready @Grotius hammered for us ... or?

stlinks probably need the daplink firmware or something

No. The ST-Link works without any modifications.

Unbelievably good job! I can say that your wiring puts Maho to shame. I'm looking at my rebuild now with shame.
It's a pity about the missing servos. They weren't great, and neither were the servo amplifiers, but they matched the machine nicely.
I'd like to make a comment about the lube system. If you go to Marks rebuild on p165 you will see my detailed comments on it.
But to make it short moving bubbles are good. A few of mine didn't move and I found them blocked at the slide. Fortunately on my CNC rotary table when I had it apart. Just sludge and lacquered old oil in the drillings.
I don't know if you have the Vogel pump.
I'd suggest opening one of the brass items on those manifolds to see what type you have. With luck  it might look like this attachment. It is a  metering piston so it delivers a measured dose. The photo has the brass nut the wrong way around. Older versions may not have had that which means the brass piece was a metering orifice and they were hard to balance, with different sized orifices. Another giveaway is that the metering type all have the same number on them. I presume they just used the same large orifice all over.
With the metering type the pump should run until they all cock. The the delivery pressure rises and the pump runs another 15 seconds or so on the relief valve to the reservoir then switches off. Then the bubbles should move as the metering pistons deliver.
If you open it, check the little conical rubber cup down inside isn't stuck. Some of mine were, again sticky oil from lack of use. And then they pop out onto the floor. That's always fun.
I have a copy of the Willy Vogel manual if you want me to post it

Cheers,
David

What do you really get for a $350 desk top engraver ?

Category: Show Your Stuff

when i first built the machine my finishes looked like they were almost perfect and as time went on it settled into something i noticed and I messed around with for a while.

then i got sidetracked when i started thinking plasma machine and am just now coming back to deal with it :)

new motor is here already and am now working on getting that put on. i just thought it was interesting since i never seen this happen before. hopefully the new motor fixes everything. unplanned upgrade at this point :)

I've seen those before but not on such a small size motor, that always happens when the shaft is mounted crooked as all motors have a pretty low "side load" value for shafts.
Having said all that, shafts bend almost always, very rare occasions of them braking.
This on the other hand seems it was put under to much stress when inserting the metal plates as it sheared clean off, so i would venture a guess that it was already cracked, can be seen by the discoloration, although might be from the low quality picture.

I said it was unusual. It had to be a flaw as you can stall a motor that size with your hand! First I've seen like that..

Hey, I'm working on a TC-215 conversion. Can someone tell me the pin out of the original connector (CNENC) from the tool changer encoder? Does it work on 24V DC?

Kernel is changed from 6.10.nn to 6.13.nn.
LinuxCNC is still the same 2.10 version, there is no "2.13" version of it.
I have not updated the download yet, only i after i do over 10 successful installs.

I agree with Rod, naming can and will cause issues as soon as more people start using this, so changing it sooner rather than later would be beneficial.
Also agree on calling it Grotius, for us who spend more time here on the forum it would obvious, and new user will have to learn whatever the name may become.

Not finished yet, but this is MINE!!!
That is until i finish it and someone insists on taking it from me, as usual! :)
Waiting for an AM5 mainboard and Ryzen 7 7700 (probably)

P.S.
I refuse to mount the water cooler on the existing Intel 14400, it does not deserve the "coolness".
So far it has:
RX6800 (non XT)
32GB of CL17/3600 RAM
Intel 512GB NVME
2 of 256GB SSD
Asus ROG THOR power supply with all 1200W of power.
