I've been forced to use Windows again recently. Scarlett Solo Sound card supported natively in Linux needed a driver install and then it would fail every second start. I did manage to install an old Office license key after a forced upgrade, several restarts, a hang and attempts  to wean me off Chrome! Now I am on Win 11 so excited

Did you ever get a Beckhoff AX5xxx vfd and got it running? I am looking for something I can work with but there isn't really that much about these vfds and linuxcnc ethercat out there.

You should be able to set up auto login the same way it is done with an x86 machine as its the OS you are logging into

I had a look at those A6 drives, from appearance they look nothing at all like my EL8's. Similar form factor, that's about it.

I think cia402.opmode doesn't change to homing mode(6) because of it.

Should I use older version of cai402_homecomp to get driver-homing work?
(if in this situation, which version should I use ? )

 

One need a vfd expert rather than an EtherCat expert I would say.
You say you get the same results using TwinCAT, that's good since it rules out linuxcnc being the problem.
Unless you get some good tips here you should probably go to the seller/manufacturer and ask them to provide details to make the vfd work.
But the behavior of the vfd doesn't seem correct.

Anyway, I looked at the config and manual and it may perhaps be that the start command should only be given a short time, really only one cycle. So give start 882 and immediately after 880. Same for stop: 881 followed by 880. Just a possibility, you must test to verify. If that turns out to be the case you can use the "oneshot" hal component.

Not sure what you mean regarding 06.05. 06.05 is the controlword you send to the vfd, right?
