If your channels are all about machining, I would try to merge them together like I did. Or just focus on your best one.
I think most who do live streaming on youtube present a session and respond to the live chat comments at the end. They might also have a seperate subscription service for the live stream like Robert. www.youtube.com/@RobertGouveiaEsq
I follow this guy to watch what's happening in the US courts etc. He can be quite funny and makes reading boring court documents fun!
Another way might be use Patreon and Google Meet. A lot of paid channels are on Rumble but I don't go there.

As for payment, Andy once said and i agree with him completely, we need to think what to do with that money, so we do not have time for that. Or similar.
Having said that, it is really nice to compensate for help, makes life a bit more bearable.

Thank you for the info, and yes i am one of those creators, lousy one at that, but we only yap about stuff we know and have experience with.
I have 3 channels on youtube, well 4 but one is the old one with my full name and surname, and keeping them updated requires a lot of time that for now i have some, but convincing myself that stuff i do daily might be interesting to others might take a bit of time.
I have gathered cameras and mic's and stuff as i usually do hoarding everything, so i just need a kick in the behind, and a good one, to actually start doing something.
Please do comment/rant on this, i was thinking of doing live q&a on all 3 channels, about issues and machines and 3D printers and PC's, not "where are you from" and "how old are you" or "what is your shoe size"...
And the timing is a bit tricky as i am in Europe, so 10PM here is 4PM in US east side, so probably will have to do 12AM to 2AM here for 6PM to 8PM in US.

Hey, I'm one of them, I've been posting YT content for 15 years with no structure, no script and no idea. Despite these failings, a month ago, I looked at what I had been doing and I had 980 followers but only 500 hours watch time/365 days. You can monetise YT if you have 1000 followers and 4000 hours/365 days so I am on a mission to get to 4000 watch hours.

One thing I found was that I had content on a couple of channels because I started before Google linked YT to your Google account and uploading from a phone inherited my Google user if I wasn't careful. So I used yt_dlp to download some content from the wrong channel and moved it to where it could actually be part of my real channel! Then I found all these clips hiding on my video camera for a few years.

I use a tool called vidIQ and I asked it to give me a AI script for my latest video. It really was an amazing script but missed the real detail you can only get with hands on experience. By the time I added that, after producing 7 minutes of it, , I found I have enough content for two videos. 

VidIQ is an amazing tool and I've had it busy fine-tuning titles, creating thumbnails and back filling all the Tags and SEO stuff under my watchful eye.

It would be easy to bang out content from AI scripts en masse, but digging up the additional resources and filming extra stuff that's needed all takes time.... I reckon at least a 40 hour week per video.

Anyway, my 365 day watch hours have increased by 100 in just a fortnight just by adding some structure.... andhelp from AI.

I run a small research lab in New York, USA, making medical devices. Because these are small machines, I’ve been able to build good systems with Mach4 and ESS, and I’ve had some success in production.

Now I have a project that needs a 6-axis machine. Mach4 can do it, but because of the natural limits with TCP, I started researching and discovered LinuxCNC with EtherCAT. I had heard of it before, but AI really opened my eyes — I could get explanations and answers right away, which gave me confidence to try this system for my business.

The challenge is, the information is scattered, and it’s hard to find a paid consulting service that fits my needs. Forums have been helpful, but I still can’t put the last pieces together. I’m not sure if offering to pay for help here would go against the spirit of the community, so I want to be respectful.

My goal is to build a commercial-quality multi-axis CNC milling machine, and to create a library of tested INI, HAL, and XML files for different motors and drives. This would help me design small, medium, and large machines with proven, stable, and affordable hardware.

If it’s okay in this community, I’d be happy to pay for the right guidance. Could You help me bring this project to completion?

I think on the dist-upgrade, the EC config is not copied to the new kernel. I seem to remember they said you need to install EC for every kernel you use,

The Ethercat key has always been there. But if Secure boot  is enabled in your BIOS, you need to do the MOK key thing but it is for authorizing the DKMS driver which is a kernel module they use in the install. This has been discussed in an issue I raised on their gitlab repo and they gave very helpful guidance which I added to my sticky.. gitlab.com/etherlab.org/ethercat

If possible disable secure boot but if you have a dual boot with Windows and an encrypted drive you have to retain it or you trash the drive.

Now they have another issue that i think it is a safety feature, not an issue:
- when the left side is a straight cut, unloading works properly
- when there is any angle on the left side, even 4 degree tested, it will not unload, the left most spindle will not move at all
That is all the info i have so far, advised them to do a test cut where the angle is on the right side with the left side left straight, i have a feeling it will unload, but waiting till tomorrow for the result.

Ethercat works. Didn't have an issue with the Qt package, might have brought it in earlier.
Did need to reinstall linuxcnc-ethercat.
Then it ran fine on the right RT kernel.

Adding that I see the Ethercat kernel modules get signed so there's a big chance we don't need the trouble with secure boot anymore.
Can't test it but someone maybe can check?

I upgrade from bookworm to trixie & ethercat work fine

TAILS is the only distro that is set out correctly out of the box to use TOR.
Other distros expect you to set up stuff and make sure the TOR network is ON and connected before opening the internet browser.
Again, the issue is internet, search youtube and you end up with millions of videos on how to stay anonymous on the net, all insisting on using Kali Linux. So far i've seen 1 insist on TAILS.
