I'm not sure why, but direct IP access does seem faster, which is really odd.

That is normal as the direct IP does not go through DNS servers, only through normal IP routers/servers, also known as ROOT servers.
And yes, anyone can add A records to "their" DNS, but normally that is quite complicated and takes time to propagate, but CloudFlare makes that as easy as LandonS says.

Anyone can copy an IP address and paste it into an A record in the DNS panel for their site.

Hakan could make forum.hakan.cc link to the LinuxCNC forum, for example.

linuxcnc.langdonstaab.ca is faster than forum.linuxcnc.org (and to a lesser extent the direct IP), which also makes no sense.

It's most peculiar.

Stupid DigitalOcean.

Proximity sensor hardware debounce?

Either way will work, there is no technical advantage of using 2 external
inverters.

Pullups/pulldowns on the 7I92T don't really matter for this specific signal
since they are overdriven by the Schmitt trigger

(the pullup/pulldown mode may matter for other signals)

HAL help needed for MPG wheel jogging and machine enabling logic

Category: HAL

A voltmeter will do, you just need to jog the MPG
so you can measure the high and low states.

HAL help needed for MPG wheel jogging and machine enabling logic

Category: HAL

I would check the swing of the A,B MPG signals, relative to ground.
The input threshold is about 2.5V with ~20% hysteresis so needs a good
say 4V swing to work reliably.

Thanks mate, must have been posting at the same time.
Anyways I've added this thread to the RPi Index thread under Linuxcnc General Questions.

The 'def get_handlers(halcomp,builder,useropts):' function has the wrong indent.
It should have no indent just like the class definition.

Probing routines changing mode from G90 to G91

Category: QtPyVCP

I've noticed that some probing routines in Probe Basic change the distance mode from G90 (absolute) to relative (G91). Took me while to figure this out

Some routines do it only when there is an error during problem while a few others always leave the machine in G91 even after successful probing.

Is this by design or is it something that should be looked into?
