panelui

Category: LinuxCNC Documents

Did you see the docs?
linuxcnc.org/docs/devel/html/gui/panelui.html
and AXIS has a sample configuration:
github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/tree/2.9/co...im/axis/panelui-demo
It's been a while since playing with it but I'll try to help.

Should I just suck it up and buy a good stepper driver?

Category: Driver Boards

HEXFET, TrenchFET, Epitaxial FET, .... damn i am getting old and this time i am not blaming it on being 3:15AM right now, there are many more types of MOSFET's, and almost all have flyback diodes, you can spend days sifting through catalogs to find any that does not
That is not the point at all, it is to show you how much we have to refrain here when we reply, ...
Again not the point, ....
The point is, do some reading and checking and rechecking before wiring and powering on stuff.
Take Unknowns advice, take a step back to reassess things.
As for TB6600 i have used the original ones and the smaller "not TB6600 despite being named so" and the "not TB6600" are much better and do not die at random. And can be found cheaper at 12-15$ a piece. Might have issues with DIP switches triggering from vibrations, though.

Fusion 360 post processor file for Plamac

Thanks, I tried the Merge circles, with the same outcome as before. I also found a test in the manual “isFullCircle()”, which returns False for this hole and true for all of the others. Should I try redrawing the hole or is the issue more so with the CAM processing? Maybe I should just keep testing different files and see how often this issue actually happens. Not a big deal to hand mark and drill this part, but more so just want to understand how to potentially resolve it he underlying issue and improve the robustness of the post processor.

Oh.

I thought only DMOS had internal diodes.

Now I know.

Thanks!

Been reading this for while, I think you need to reassess what you think you know compared to what you actually know.
Usually the stepper drivers are pretty hardy, the ones I have in my mill are about 15 years old and haven't missed a beat.
I've never heard of anyone having to make modifications.
Some of the early TB6600 drivers weren't as reliable as they should have been, no experience with them myself but many reports of them being that way.
So just settle down, do things the recommended way and don't try to modify things that don't require modification. And if you still insist of doing board level mods consult the data sheets for the components that will be affected. I'm sure this would have resolved the issue of "no flyback diodes".

Yes, I am using GMOCCAPY UI, but I have just checked QTDragon_HD, and it looks really cool! I might be tempted to make a switch at some point. I am completely new to LinuxCNC, got it all up and running last week after pulling my hair out after experiencing multiple bugs with Mach3 and EC300(digital dream) controller. I have to say I am super happy, LinuxCNC is soooooo much better than Mach3.

Mac address and generic driver.
Two network interfaces and you picked the wrong one? Has never happened to anyone...
Ethercat master prints in /var/log/messages. Have a look there or at the end of the huge output of "sudo dmesg" for signs of why it won't use the network interface

so yes, that would have included typing in the MAC in that file per instructions

checked that file again. seems fine. reran enable, start, status... nothing changes.
