No, you can not use gmoccapy 3.0
To use it you will need master branch.
To test, just get the branch mentioned in an earlier post and compile as rip-environment.
Ich you do not know what i am talking about, we will need to begin very at the beginning.

First, I would need to understand if it worths/requires making the update.
I am using debian 9 preempt rt, I just ordered a capacitive display from aliexpress, I wanna build the controller for my mill.
For the controller itself I will use the minimum amount of buttons, cycle start, feed hold, and some other buttons that might improve the operating experience.
Does this new update adds something more relevant to gmoccapy that would improve the touch screen experience?
I assume I don't have to do any changes to my actual debian instalation.
I would assume its just new version of emc2 that includes these updates.
Also, do I need to make any changes to my ini/hal files or update to 2.8?

If you just use a normal mill or lathe, there will be no need to update, but if you use a lathe and want to use also a C axis, than an update will be recommend.
I need to do some more documentation, that is why I did not push this branch to master jet.

I just bought a 12'' touch screen (just realised its a bit too small), and since full hd looks too small, I've set it to 1280x720. Now the buttons are the correct size, but gmoccapy does not fit the entire screen, its cut on the bottom side.
I was wondering if newer versions don't have a fix for wider screens.
Can you advise on how could I fix this issue?

I updated linuxcnc to 2.8.pre and tried to install glade editor and edit the glade file to make it fit my screen.
I am using Debian Stretch and the installed Glade editor had support only for GTK3 and the glade file used by gmoccapy is using 2.x if I remember correctly. I tried without success to install the GTK2 but I was unable to find it, thus I was unable to edit the glade file..
Any suggestions?

Just install glade 3.8.6 and adjust gmoccapy.glade according to your needs. Do not remove or rename widgets!
Try this way : forum.linuxcnc.org/9-installing-linuxcnc...lade-linuxcnc#112162

Which version of gmoccapy will be in the final version of 2.8? any progress with 3.0?
Is there a what's new list somewhere (on gmoccapy)?

Hallo Ruben,
gmoccapy 3.0 is finished, it is just missing the final documentation. I need urgently to find some time to do that doku.
I will push gmoccapy 3.0 as soon as possible to final 2.8 after that the only release I will support is 3.0!
It is quite to much work to support all releases.
