Does this help?
It never really matters in my experience if you use stranded or solid cable with the standard crimp connectors.
Everything will still be colour coded. Just determine if the cbale is wired to the A or B standard and make it straight through

Rod, there is a big difference in crimp quality if not using correct connectors. Two different beasts as regards the slotted prongs in the in the connector.
If using a stranded patch cable ALWAYS take a connector made for stranded wire!

Why, in my case that would not be done with parts I have in the 19" rack.
7i96 is too wide to the red card rails.
Yes I know there are several ways to skin a cat but I found this to be less expensive and easy to fit. Also I want the rack box to be totally with connectors on all cables for ease of storing and no tangling cables.

Time to unplug the thumb from my a**
Decided to shrink the working envelope to 500x500 and to skip rack/pinion and I will be using IGUS high helix screws instead.
Have had some issues with the driver box that now is sorted out so I can proceed with the software.
Cheers
Bengt

Hi Tecno, it is a good idea to use IGUS high helix screw, I would like to see how they behave in steel dust environments.

Hi Chimeno,
The dust/smoke is something I am pondering on how to protect linear guides and the screws,
Not easy task but Iwill try
Regards
Bengt
