I HAVE updated teh Bios to teh latest provided by ASUS. I will reset teh hyperthreading. The 800 mhz is how it set itself up

So either an I3-7100 or a Pentium gold 5XXX or similar
both released about a year ago which probably accounts for the
issue with onboard video since the OS is older than that...

HUM most of those MBs are on teh edge of obsolete. And this MB is no where near teh leading edge of MBs.

Right, might also be a problem with CPU/MB compatibility (very new CPU/older MB)

Edit, thats a quite new (for Intel Gen8 CPUs) MB
So quite likely too new for Pathpilots OS

Funny that I put an older off lease reburbish Dell mini(Intel Chipsets and i3 CPU) into teh mix and PathPilot runs FINE as frog hair.

BUT that does not solve teh problem of being able to buy NEW components to build a controller. Something that if it goes down you can actually buy NEW parts for it.

Maybe Tormach will give that some thought in teh future.

Tormach machines work fine, and they don't support non-tormach users officially.
why would they give that some thought, Tormach has tried to submit work to get PP into the linuxcnc stream, it's still waiting on linuxcnc to do something with it, that's what I was told.
