Finally i start the cutting with material piercing but is not ok for the torch. So how can i start the cutting from outside?

I don't think you will be able to. I use 120 amps on 16mm so I doubt that you'll get the 45 to do the job at all. PLus if you did get it to work, the duty cycle will kick in and it will stop cutting anyway.

Check the specs in your manual and then talk to your Hypertherm Rep about an upgrade. I'd say you'd need 85 amps minimum

ONe rule of thumb I was told was to use 10 amps per mm. That is a bit over but you get what I'm saying

I echo Rods statement,

I cut a bit of 25mm plate ,

And 20mm plate,

I have a Powermax 125, and on the thicker stuff it still struggles. It will do it easily enough but its not the same as cutting say 8mm. I really need a 200 amp unit for cutting the thicker stuff. I dont do it all day everyday tho so the 125 is not over stressed.

Yeah but I am sure the extra effort to set it up would be worth it. Just for the extra consumable life alone.

Yeh, we knew what you meant. I had to find your manual. I am surprised they list edge start for material that thick but the proof is in the pudding
