Silly me. I had looked through the ini file and did not notice it was missing. The ini file was generated by the 7i96 configurator .

For info the configurator also puts in metric instead of mm although linuxcnc using Axis works OK but not with PlasmaC as this needs it to be mm.

Maybe you could let the author of that know, it also produces syntax that TWOPASS doesn't like:

loadrt hm2_eth board_ip="192.168.1.121" config="num_encoders=1num_stepgens=4"sserial_port_0=1

should be

loadrt hm2_eth board_ip="192.168.1.121" config="num_encoders=1 num_stepgens=4 sserial_port_0=1"

I wrote a workaround for this in the Configurator but it should be fixed at the source
