Probe Test was created by little_sparky
Hi All,

after almost 2 years I can finally see the home straight! Cant thank you all enough.

One thing I have a small question about is the probe test.

When I click the probe test button, it goes down until it touches the top of the material and when it triggers the float switch it immediately stops and an error message comes up saying float switch detected while moving to probe height.

I thought this would be right, except I thought it is meant to retract to the pierce height ready to cut.

I am not sure if I am on the completely wrong tram here or if this is normal or what the go is.

Thank you in advance.

Normally that would mean you have the Probe Height set too low.
Probe Height is measured from the Z Minimum Limit.
It should move down at Setup Speed until it reaches Probe Height then it moves at Probe Speed until it reaches the material.

i thought this was the case, but then when I set the probe height higher, it would just come down to the new height (say 20mm above material), stop, wait for the 10 seconds and then retract back up to a random height where it started.

Check the ini file for the button code that does the probe height and make sure it is:
BUTTON_n_CODE = probe-test 30

It should, that means it will wait 10 seconds at Pierce Height.

I also unchecked the “ohmic probe enable” box in the plasma run screen
