Mesa Thcad-10 as the THC? was created by luftlupus

Probably a dumb question i have my plasma table firing and cutting on mode 1 at this moment in plasmac, reading voltage and all that.
Running mesa 7i76/6i25 THCAD-10 to read voltage. The question is can you use the THCAD-10 readout to control the Z height on the torch if i switched over to mode 2 in plasmac? or do i need an external THC? Cheers.

If you are in mode 1 then the THCAD voltage is already used to control the torch height.

Mode 2 is for external THC controllers.

ok so i might have missed a setting of some sort as the z does not adjust while cutting.

Do you have THC enabled in the Run Panel?

You should also have Auto Volts checked unless the Cut Voltage is definitely correct for your materials.

Externel THC is old and not performe good also expansive ( proma THC for example)
THCAD is better becouse u have full control over THC voltage from GUI. also performance much better

--Proma Elektronika THC150
-cheap at 200$
-good performance when set properly
-can not be destroyed even on purpose
-easy to install and set up
-slower than THCAD
-combined with thc_toma config works perfectly even on industrial retrofits, never fails

--Mesa THCAD 5/10/300
-extremely cheap
-extremely good performance
-fully integrated and automated in LinuxCNC

-much faster than Proma
-combined with PlasmaC config it can put to shame much, much more expensive industrial machines !!!

So i did some test cuts today and checked that thc was enabled as such which it was. I had just been using the extras tab to cut some circles at the moment, but still noticed that there was no z movement when in operation? does there need to be some kind of command in the gcode to enable thc during the cut? Cheers for any advice

Attach screenshots of the "run" and "config" panel please.
Does the voltage on screen fluctuate during cutting ?
