Using a sim will not control the machine, it is for testing software only.
Find the created config directory, there is a file with .ini extension, right click on it and choose "open with other app" or similar, then type "linuxcnc" in the box and press enter.

You also really need to update. You are on a really old version. Current qtplasmac version is 1.0.31

I've tried the "axis" interface and it works, all drives are working properly, and I'm using a breakout board control.
The problem is when I want to work on one of the other graphical interfaces such as "qtplasma", it does not work because there are settings in "ini, hal" files and I face many problems because I am not an expert in "linux" systems.
