One of the long term goals of the project, is to integrate it with AI I dont know if I will release this publicly or not as it will be to OP of a tool but If i do make it i will share it by pm to the members here. The idea is to be able to use ai to generate signs shapes parametric modeling, upload a photo and have it turn it into a silhouette, or design a cut file off of a text prompt, potentially a chat bot could also be implemented for diagnosis of the system. This same chat bot could be then implemented into a website and customers could very easily custom design there own signs etc, order them and we make them and ship them out.

Here is two screen shots of the current state of the software, I am making it in python and will push it into the qtplasmac when its useable. im trying to keep it simple and easy/straight forward to learn/use. still is very buggy but am making progress. The goal is with the software is to bring the fabricator closer to the machine, its not to replace a real cad software just for drawing parts fast and easy. conversational cad.

with automatic nesting sheet metal tracking could be implemented pretty easily. keep track of ur scraps and steel inventory. set auto order to automatically send a email to the steel supply, would be pretty neat when it runs low.

Here is updated nesting using sparrow algorithm. Im also including the github repo for anyone who wants to use the software or work on the software. If you make any changes you would like to share make a github and include them here and I will test and implement them into the main build. To build the software I am using claude code, pretty much just text to code dont have to be a genius just good at coming up with ideas a 20 dollar subscription to the ai and some free time on your hands.

since the start of writing this post I also added it so it can nest even tighter by rotating the parts at 1 degree increments, its honestly mostly on par as far as i can tell with industrial grade nesting software. but yea here u guys go, go wild. if you like the project put some time into improving it any way you can.

Got my first cuts made with it today, took a while to get the gcode to work correctly with qt plasma c
We also added a image to dxf function, still needs some work but its a start.
I added a kerf width calculation wizard... cut out a test piece input the actual cut size vs the wanted cut size and it calculates what your kerf width is spoused to be. I did a install on a friends computer and some of the install seems broken, need to make it more shareable if anyone else wants to easily use it. Not to shabby tho for only being 2 weeks into the project part time.
