Hello,

i didn't read in the forum for a long time, sorry for that Chris!
Awsome work you did - i'm very thankful for that, love it!
I thought noone cares about that - but sometimes it's useful.....

I will try to update Probe Basic tomorrow - didn't get the Updater to run yet.
....something is wrong - i check tomorrow.

Thank you very much Chris!

Martin

The updater no longer works, anything pre linuxcnc 2.9 is no longer being supported, you will want to update by going to Debian 12 and using the .deb installation method in the sticky section. Also be sure to update your configs with the py3 config doc also in the sticky section.

Thanks!

Chris

......ah,ok!
That's not done in 5min :-)

I changed almost everything in my current system (linux & linuxcnc), maybe a new "clean install" is a good idea....
I read the latency also improved with Debian 12 & 2.9, that's a fine thing too....

Thanks Chris, i will write back when i finished the upgrade - but maybe takes some time :-)

Thanks rodw, that worked fine....
A Probe Basic Sim is also running fine.
I installed it on an old HDD for testing, so i can run my machine just changing to SSD....
Now i have to import my ini & hal etc.....

You need to perform the conversion for your config.  Conversion doc linked below:

Hello,
...i did that several times, also created a new machine just to test - no luck!

But now i have a funny question:
...is it possible, that the new system don't work with a "StepConf" created machine?

never tried that, always used pncconfig so not sure. but the important thing is that all of the correct settings are there and the installation is done correctly/

Hello,
tried it this week again with the last version.....
Everything works fine.....love it!
No idea why it didn't run last year, maybe patience is the trick :-)

I found an issue and will open a thread for that.

Thank you all for your great work around linuxcnc!!
