if you have a current working config, it will require some editing for the py3 version of probe basic to accommodate some of the new functionality in the update interface, I am in the process of making a py2 to py3 transition document for configuration files that should make it pretty simple.

hello, today i was trying to install Probe_basic under Debain 11 on a other PC...
i was following this manual
www.qtpyvcp.com/install/bullseye.html
but at this part

i got errors
how can i install po4a 0.66?
did you have a complete manual for this installation?

I use the script installer found here, it is much esdier and just works:
github.com/joco-nz/lcnc-bullseye-installer
this will install everything you need, linuxcnc, qtpyvcp and probe basic as well as the correct realtime kernel.
follow the instructions to the letter and use Debian Bullseye 11 xfce4 non free and should go on without a hitch. the other instructions often have missing dependencies because things are ever changing so its hard to keep the instructions current.

You would have made a folder named dev, in that folder is the probe basic folder and their is a config folder, copy it over to the linuxcnc config folder. Then look for the sim in the drop down as your were doing previously. You should be able to run the sim and make sure severity looks good.
Then once you've got that working, you can start converting your old configs over. Hoping to have a doc finished up by end of the weekend, got side tracked looking into a config builder for probe basic.
