Some problems with probe basic lathe

I’ve just updated, and now the screen displays correctly. The arrows seem to respond properly, but none of the conversational macros work—or maybe I’m doing something wrong when entering the values in the fields, although it doesn’t work in simulation either. I’m attaching a screenshot.The default RPM the spindle should run at when I press the Forward button still isn’t working.

By the way, I’m not sure if I mentioned it, but I’m on the dev branch.

Not sure on conversational, i dont use it and didnt build that it was a pull request from a user. Could be the macros for it need to be fixed

It is not specific to probe basic, but linuxcnc by andypugh, perhaps search kathe macros, i think there is a big thread on it and how to use and you can check if the macros are correct

I’ve been reading through AndyPugh thread, but honestly I still have no idea how to get it working in Probe Basic Lathe.
 

I’ve updated AndyPugh macros to the latest version, and now it seems to work, but it shows the tool change tab and doesn’t go any further.

You maybe could check the lathe macros uo files using editvcp and fine the lathe macros in the probe basic widgets directory and verify the parsee widhet entry names correspond correctly with the macros being used. From a glance it appears they may not be the same.

You need to make sure those variables are get ng from the ui to the subroutine at the top.

I’ve tried changing the field names in Turning using Qt Designer so they match the macros, but without success. I’m not exactly sure if what I tried makes any sense, since I don’t have experience with this.I’ve looked at the files in the link, but are they for Probe Basic Mill? This is a bit beyond me because I don’t really have the necessary knowledge…I also saw a post on the Facebook page about an update to the lathe conversational section. Does anyone know when that update will be released?

dont change the ui names, modify the macros otherwise on an update you will be overwritten while macros in your config folder for machine are not

it will be a while and that is not a "probe basic" item it is actually a universal machine conversational that will also be able to be added in as an external plugin to probe basic. its a ways out as i have limited time to work on it lately.
 

I changed the macro names, but I wasn’t able to get it to work.
I’m not sure if the names I saw in Qt Designer are the correct ones…
