Hello,

Thanks, just tried to give it a try.
Disabled QTDragon.ui and dealers in my home directory and added the section to the INI.
But no matter what I pass as a value, nothing changes in the image.
Before changing Linuxcnc closed and then restarted.
All other files have the status of today's update.
Does the section have to be in a certain position in the INI?

Kind regards, Frank.

The entries go in the preference file - qtdragon.pref in your config folder.

Hello,

Sorry, found it, it's in the QTDragon preferences.
Works as expected, thank you!
Since I don't actually play around with this file, I didn't even have it on my screen.

Kind regards, Frank.

Hello,

I just played with the parameters and it does what it's supposed to do.
Fortunately, this also makes it possible to show the image slightly enlarged without using the zoom control.
Values smaller than 100 percent result in a completely distorted image.
But I would leave it like that because the desired function is guaranteed.
Now all you have to do is find someone to fill the empty space with a few useful functions for measuring and aligning the camera.
Unfortunately I'm not smart enough.

Kind regards, Frank.

On some laptops the built in camera can be disabled in BIOS.
If not, there is the option of blacklisting the camera in Linux.
And the easiest should be changing the ID or port in software, but no idea how to do that, sorry.

in your config folder, add a file named .qtdragonrc
In that file add:

self.w.camview._camNum = 1

You may need to change the number.

Sorry for being a total Noob and bothering you all.

I run lsusb and I can see:
"Bus 002 Device 077: ID ...Vimicro USB Camera (Altrair)"

When I use cheese the camera app and I select that camera I get a picture.

When I run "sudo dmesg | tail" I get
..., device number 76
...failed to resubmit
.. USB device number 77

So it looks like it recognised it but the system fails for a reason and the counter increases. I can live with that.

However when I add that config above nothing happens. So I would like to check the config is correct.

The directory I am putting the file in is

"/cncuser/linuxcnc/configs/mymill"

The fille I added is called

".qtdragonrc"

Note the dot. No extension.

The content of the file is a single line with a return (pressed enter to create a new line).

"self.w.camview._camNum = 77"

I could just use chees and split the screen to show the LinuxCNC controls but love the idea of the circle as a guide.

I know working for a software company how hard it is to diagnose this stuff remotely so appreciate the help.

I believe I could add a rule to disable the build in camera but not sure that would solve things and looks more complex than this.
