I'm very interested I have seen it used on a Heidenhain machine
Really cool
You can rotate the head and then machine away like normal.
Anyway I'll get the machine cutting and see how I go

Exactly. This is why it's so much easier to demonstrate the value of TWP on machines with tool side rotation.

Heh - I have never used or explored G68.x or G53.x. I probably would have if I was the operator on my machine if my machine did not have LinuxCNC controlling it. When I found OpenCNC (in 1997) and then EMC/EMC2 (~2000) I stopped exploring Fanuc (or any other) controls.
Sounds like LinuxCNC has some catching up to do if anyone wants to use those features.

Only reason to make this thread was too sure people how good Linuxcnc is especially on a big CNC.
And how we deal with potential issues like no jerk control.
And 1 line look ahead for 4axis
Plus any other issues.
I have 80 tools in magazine is that a issue still?

For those interested in Tilted Work Plane implementation on 5axis machines with work side rotation see:

Note that this covers also non-nutating kinematics (just set the nutation angle to 90°) and covers BC as well as AC table configurations (adjust 'table-angle' between 0..90°)
