I’ve purchased the license and am testing the program, but I have one remaining question. When automatically generating machining tasks, I noticed that it doesn't detect any 3D tasks. Another issue is that, upon generating these tasks, they cannot be viewed on the model until the toolpath itself is generated; sometimes, it’s hard to tell which machining task was created, making it difficult to select the right tool.

Hi Cofhal,

Thank you for your purchase.

1) Full 3D Toolpaths - Adaptive Clear, Pocket Clear, Z Level Finish, Parallel / Raster Finish dont get surfaced by Feature Recognition. They are for whole part or selection by face or chains.

2) After Feature Recognition is done, you can hover over each feature and it lights up on the model. You can keep the model semitransparent to better view buried features like holes.

I will create a detailed thread on our community forum where you have already signed up in case you need more details.

Whatever you do, Fusion will cost you 1500 per year for a basic 4th axis. Takshak wont.

Depends how you define "basic". My paid-for Fusion costs me something like $400 a year and that includes indexed / wrapped 4th axis which allows me to do things like splines and gears. True simultaneous 4th axis requires the ruinously expensive manufacturing extension. That's always been a disappointment that rather limits the use of my 4th axis.

Don't get me wrong - I'm certainly interested in true simultaneous 4th axis. I was a beta tester on Onshape and started with Fusion when it was quite embryonic, so I'm used to waiting for features and bug fixes. There's only one way to discover how well developed and robust a product actually is but in this case I'd not even heard of it until a few days ago, so I've no way to get a feel for that.

I don't understand the 30 day business. If I don't pay the second $200 after 30 days, does it simply stop working - and my original $199 is automatically refunded? Or will I have paid $199 for 30 days of unsatisfied experience?

No you got us wrong. The license has a launch offer of 199 USD. That offer is for 30 days from launch and ends on 30th September.

Post that the launch offer ceases and anyone buying from 1st October onwards pays 399 USD.

If you bought it before 30th September, its your forever at 199.

Irrespective of whether you bought it for 199 before the offer expires or 399 after it expires, you still get 30 days of usage to decide if you want to keep it. If you dont like it, you can ask for a refund.

Exactly our point. For the same cost as a one year Fusion subscription of their basic CAD and CAM, you get Takshak for life which has an even larger rotary operations library than Fusion. If you buy it before 30th September, you get it at half that cost.

Anyone saying 200 USD is too expensive for that capability sounds rich enough to pay 1500 USD per year to Fusion and I have no beef with them.
