retrofit on EMCO PC turn 55

My PCturn 55 has a very nice 3 phase motor. I completely scraped all the existing electronics including the VFD. I am using a TECO VFD which works quite well.

I cannot provide any insite on the original software as I do not use it.

I am using a stock tool turret, including the original DC motor and control board. The turret has two sensors. One indicates tool 1 and the other pulses as the turret rotates. I wrote a component to control this turret using LinuxCNC.

Should be an easy LinuxCNC conversion, and at least we understand the Emco tool changer in that.

I agree andy but I would rather spend the money on the hnc lathe that I have been obsessing over

these last few days.

getting closer to deciding what to do.

Good point.

Does the Emco eat much? Why not ignore it for a few months then do a fast cheap conversion on it when you know how?
(or do it now as a training exercise)

food for thought

I would still rather have the hardinge but I may take good sage advise and retro the EMCO first

as a training exercise.

Ill think about that for a day or so, I do have someone interested in the emco if I can get it working right.

but on the other hand it is eating nothing but space
