Thanks Big John. I renamed my original ini to backup ini, then renamed the hot winch ini to my-mill and it comes up. I am sure I will have more question when editing the files.

I'm so glad you got it up and going... at tip for dmesg if you redirect it to a file (the > does the magic) and attach it to the message it is easier for old eyes to read.

Is there an easy way to take the setting I need from my hal file I created with stepgen and transfer them to the hotwinch hal?

I have the machine moving in joint and in world. But in world the stepper motors are noisy. I would like to switch my measurement units over to inches if that's possible. I will attach my files. Any help would be appreciated.
